I like that about the FF Pro... Any way, I would get a Saitek Cyborg 3d Gold (USB). Good, cheap and realiable. For details go to http://www.dxmarket.com/saitek/dir/1.html and to buy it in the UK go to http://www.gameplay.co.uk/ . There you are, Sorted  ;)

Some people have problems with M$ own joystick for an M$ game.  It does not work aswell as the Saitek Evo or Logitech Force 3D.  The Force 3D has force feedback the Evo does not, if you were wondering.

I use the Force 3D and think it is an excellent joystick for this Sim and various other programs i use it for.

I have used a Logitech Wingman Extreme FF 3D with the sim and it works great.

Even though I'm not knowledgeable on the workings of a FF joystick I can't see it being that hard to incorperate into a yoke.
I have used the CH Yoke before and like stated makes flying the sim more realistic. But I'm also waiting for a FF yoke to come along, so in the meantime I use the M$ FF pro. Never had any problems with it, in FS9 but can't get it too work with anything else.
So John if you give it a try and it works let us know!!
That is something I'm willing to try!

I'm using a Logitech Wingman Attack 2 joystick :)...
I got it for 19.99 USD and its got 6 programmable buttons (no hat switch :P)

It's cool for basic flying, but, I'm now wishing I got one with force feedback (FF) :(
