Motherboard / chipset I.D. ?

Postby Paz » Sat Jun 14, 2003 11:14 am

Does anyone know how to identify what motherboard and chipset is in any given computer, without tearing the machine apart?
System information tells the bios and plenty of other useful info, but I haven't been able to find any detailed info on the specifics of the motherboard or chipset.

This thing tells you so much about your system it's almost spooky!

System info doesn't really identify as much as you would think, at least not detailed info.
If you want to know EVERYTHING and I do mean EVERYTHING about your PC, get this aida32 freeware program, this is an unbelievable deal, I can get any info I want about my computer, it will test your memory benchmarks, if you have sensors on your MB and CPU it tells the temps, reveals every detail about anything connected to your machine, lists everything that is running on your PC and how much memory is being used by each program, there is so much that aida32 does, I can't possibly list it all, I've had the program for less than 24 hours and I've already installed it on all my machines.
If are interested in the nitty-gritty about your machine,
the link is in my post up above, it's only like a 2.5 Mb download and free!

By the way ATI, thanks for the suggestion.

But I like to rip the side cover off the pc, and what do i see there? AH! the mainboard ID. AH HA!!!

Then I go to the manufacturers website and read the real truth and nothing but the truth.... hopefully.

In days not so long gone, these mainboard ID's were not so easily identified, leading me to believe that they were actually smuggling something in there!
