Cannot center rudder with CH Pro Pedals

All of a sudden the rudder on all planes is completely to the Left. I am using CH Productss Pro Pedals. Only by kicking full right I can turn it but it will not center making it almost impossible to keep a straight line on the pavement, so no way I can roll correctly while taxiing. While flying I cant getr a smooth coordinated turn. Can someone tell me how to correct this or are my pedals gone to bonkers????.. I have tried all types of adjustments on FSX's pedals screen but nothing works satisfactorily.

Have you tried...

Windows/Control Panel/Hardware & Sound/View Devices and Printers/your Joystick, Pedals, etc/Game control settings/Properties....

...check all the movements there!

If they don't move correctly, then the device(s) is faulty/out of adjustment.

I have the CH Products Eclipse Yoke. After getting the Saitek Rudder peddles I de-programmed the rudder "paddles" on the yoke.

Your posting made me think of an alternate use for the paddles. I have FSUIPC4 and needed to use that to make the paddles do what I wanted them to do.

Along the way I discovered that I had the same problem that you do, in a way.

I found the best way to actually see the problem was to, temporarily, assign the PAN VIEW to the paddles.

When I pushed the left paddle I could turn only (about) 160 degrees. When I pushed the right paddle I could turn a full 180 degrees in that direction.

The FSUIPC4 scale is higher compared to the calibrations scale built in to CH Control Manager so you can get a finer control of the axis, levers, or joystick.

Now that I knew for a certainty that it wasn't my imagination I wanted to finally fix it physically.


First guess was that the pot (linear potentiometer, to be exact) needed cleaning with contact cleaner. No good. Same problem. Same degrees off.

Second guess was that there was some kind of friction now, that hadn't been there 6 months ago. Lubed the internal pivot and anywhere there was a part to part contact. No good. Same problem. Same degrees off.

OK. Corrosion and friction are not a problem. Springs! There is a heavy spring on each side of the pivot. So I swapped the 2 springs. No good. Same problem. Same degrees off.

(In truth, all of these changes made some improvement, just not enough.)


Now I have to consult Sherlock Holmes.

So the answer to our problem is - Gremlins. After a bean and onion soup (3 bowls) I made the area unlivable to gremlins, well.... 2 dogs, 1 cat, and 1 wife too. No good. MORE problems. Same degrees off.


In the end I gave up and corrected the problem with FSUIPC. No more problems. Everything works the way that it should now.

When all else fails, CHEAT.


The alternate use for the paddles that I had in mind? Zoom.

I can push the left paddle to variably zoom in, and the right paddle to variably zoom out. I know, real planes don’t have a zoom button or lever. But I wanted one because I like to zoom in or out, and a paddle comes on the Eclipse Yoke.
