Using your 7"+ Tablet for a CDU

I have a 7" Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 tablet and often use it with the free program FsMovMap.

Definitely a great program.

But I just found a program that may be of interest to all you high flyers. Virtual CDU $20

Please, no comments from the whiners. I know it's not free. It seems like a lot of tablet users expect their apps to either be free or cost .99 cents. And, yes, there are plenty of freeware FMC/CDU out there. But they'll pop up on your main screen. I simply prefer to keep pop-ups to a minimum, and using a tablet (that I wanted whether or not it was useful for FSX) provides me with another touchscreen.

If I had money falling out of my pocket (and if I wanted one to begin with) I would buy the FMC B737 for $577, or something similar. But I do have a tablet, so why not use it for FSX instead of leaving it turned off somewhere.

I installed the demo version. On a 7" tablet it's very usable, and if you do have a tablet I would recommend it. On an android phone it would be pretty much useless.

When you read the description where it says:
"IMPORTANT :
1. This Beta version is supporting only the following add-ons :
=> PMDG 737 NGX for FSX (Version SP1C original is needed).
=> IIFLY 737 (Version 3.1 original is needed)"

it means that as far as add-on aircraft are concerned, those are the only 2 non-Microsoft planes that work with Virtual CDU as of now.

The fact that some payware planes aren’t fully compatible with standard software/hardware has kept me from buying them.
