Astounding!!!! Reality par excellence! Any idea when the new FS2020 will become available to the public to buy? I have already prepared a new computer system for its use, including the availability of a triple-screen cockpit to give me a broad view of the awesome graphics.

Supposedly it's going to be released in late Fall or early Winter. All things considered, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a bit of a delay.

There will definitely be some delays.
According to some testers, it appears the current Alpha version has quite a lot of problems, bugs and things that need dramatic improvements for usability (like some of the settings menus, for example).
The major concern is about the new flight model, which is acting very badly at the moment.

.. BUT it's an Alpha. Such situation would be very worrying if it were in Beta, yes, but it's still in Alpha so it's supposed to have many issues left.
The question is: how long will they need to solve all of these problems ?
The bonus question is: how long will they be delayed by that virus...

From today noon in France, it will be forbidden to get out of home excepted in some cases (to buy food etc...). It is now impossible/forbidden to go to the office. That means Asobo's employees have to work from home.
For software development, working from home is not a problem at all normally, but it might make things go a bit slower.
That's especially true for those who have kids. Kids being at home instead of being at school can definitely be a problem for productivity... Good luck to all the parents out there :)

Is it permitted to ask if the flightsim will be VR-ready? I'm also looking for a new PC configuration.

Asobo said they will investigate about adding VR to this sim, but there is no guarantee about this at the moment.
Right now, the Alpha version does not support VR at all.
