CFS Upgrade?

Postby Bubblehead » Mon Mar 01, 2010 12:47 pm

I think that CFS2 & 3 cannot compare to the quality and performance of CFS1. Is there any upgrade for CFS1? What do you think is the best combat flight simulation game in the market which has similar concept as CFS1? Something without too much statistics and strategies, go right to shoot 'em zap 'em combat.

Depends what you want. CFS1 was always regarded as the best version of the CFS series for multiplayer. I never played online & prefer CFS2.

There's no official update for CFS1 but still plenty of freeware missions & campaigns available right here at SimV.

I have had CFS 2 and CFS 3 for many years now, and CFS 2 is always my favourite.

I used to join in Multiplayer CFS 2 Flights with my Sim V Mates many years ago, and I still occasionally enjoy solo Flights using it, and adding extra objects... :)...!

This depends upon what you're asking for upgrade. There are numerous add-ons as well as utilities for your own editing. Since I couldn't find a proper Roi-Namur for one of my own set of missions, I've added some texuring and runways for the WW2 scenario. The available Wake Atoll sceneries had unexplodable buildings included in the .bgl and, choosing one of them, I hex-edited to remove them; CFS is a war scenario -- buildings get blown away.
Since I keep my Operation Theatres segregated, I have a seperate CFS installations for WW1 and also WW2 Pacific Theatre; I've edited the Dialog.dll to portray as WWI and I intend the same for my WW2 Pacific Theatre install.
