Hanger Macro

Postby ivormills » Sat Dec 11, 2004 10:06 am

Hi,

Can anyone point me in the direction of a decent hanger macro that works well in CFS1. I would like a 3D model that you can go inside with some good textures. I have tried a few of the regular downloads but some have problems and others are not well done. I am using Airport 2.6.

Many thanks

~S~ Ivor

I always liked these two:

Hangar type A
Hangar type D

Both by Robert Waszkiewicz

Find them here: http://www.simviation.com/fsdesign_macros5.htm

They don't use textures, but do look great both inside and out - they even have strip lighting inside and a nice floodlight effect at night. If you get the coordiantes right you could have a scenery starting point right inside one. Very nicely done indeed. In fact, some of the best ones I've ever seen for CFS1.

If I remember rightly they don't have crash detection, but you could fix this by creating some invisible walls using EOD and placing them carefully around the hangars. I've tried this and it works very well (but is a little fiddly).

I'd be interested in seeing your scenrey when you've done - I've had my interest in CFS1 re-awakened with the new rocket-enabled TG2 for XP (and a neighbour whom I got interested and who is now using my old Saitek X-45 and a bargain bin version of the game to shoot me down with alarming regularity... ;))

All the best,

~S~

;D Hi Ivor,
I caught this post a little late but if you need api macros for cfs1, I have a ton ! I don't design for cfs1 anymore but I'd be happy to give them to anybody who does.
Here are some screen shots of some of the hangers I have. I have others as well. I can't remember where I got them all and some are tricky to get the corect textures. If you dl some of my sceneries you can open the folders and see what textures you need. I would say Guernsey Field and Etaples3 are my best and most intricate land based sceneries. There are good examples in there.
Just click on the link for my geocities site at the very bottom of this page or mail me at ddaveops@yahoo.com

Dd ;)
