This is an email I got at my web site. I have no answer since I've never tried it.Anyone know the answer to this?

..."I have the gunsight swapper and ever time I try to tweak a gunsight using the accessories 'paint', when I re-introduce the gunsight bmp file into the texture folder, when I start up the game, the sight is not transparent.What am I doing wrong?"......

It's along time since I messed with gunsights. Chuck Dome released a utility for CFS1 named Gunpaint that should also work for CFS2. I don't know if it's still available.
