Mission editors and windows XP

Hi all
I have tried  to install a mission editor into my p.c , which uses windows XP , and am not having any luck with getting it to work , has anyone else experienced the same problems , or managed to get them to work with XP,
i'd be very grateful for any tips or help, many thanks
