I downloaded Steve McClelland's CFSII Europe, which I really enjoy. However when I select a runway to take off from (in the mission builde), I

Engineer. Have you added the airfield to Airbases.dat? My little tute explains the basics.
http://www.simviation.com/lair/Scene2MbDb.htmlI forget the finer points now but the Airbases.dat entry sets the starting position of the aircraft on a runway in missons. The heading is most important as the starting position is measured from a point some distance up the runway. One degree out either way can place you some distance from it.
