Well, the sim is released, and you can buy it now :)
However, you'll have to wait a bit before you can download it. The servers seem to be struggling with the unexpected amount of customers... It seems LM didn't consider the fact that most people would be at home (because of confinement) and would be trying to download at the same time :D

Downloading now. Let's wait to see if I get the full file before I get cut off. 20GB!
Can't wait to try it!

According to the current reviews, P3Dv5 is just P3Dv4 with better performance, darker shaders, and an option to activate uglier clouds (if that was even possible).

There is a great improvement in scenery, for instance:

ORBX:

We have checked 230 products for major compatibility issues and so far we are pleased to say that the majority are working as is.
.....
One notable exception to this will be Orbx Global VECTOR; at this point we are not intending to port this title to the new platform. The data within in Prepar3D v5 is much newer and complete and makes Global VECTOR less relevant. Airport data in Global VECTOR is also incompatible with Prepar3D v5. Though Global VECTOR does have additional features such as road tunnels and custom textures, at this stage we do not intend to modify it for Prepar3D v5.
