P3D V4 stock FSX FA-18

Prepar3D - Lockheed Martin has taken the FSX platform into a new level aimed at the professional.

P3D V4 stock FSX FA-18

Postby Freezr Geezr » Sat Jan 12, 2019 4:58 pm

Hello,

I recently made the switch to P3D from FSX. I am trying to get the stock FA-18 to work in P3D however, the hud, MFDs and a majority of the instruments aren't working in the simulator. It seems that P3D is not properly reading the .dll file in the Gauges folder. I can produce the same problem when I remove the .dll file from FSX so I am pretty sure that's where the problem is. Has anyone experienced the same problem or have figured out a solution?

Thanks in advance.

Have a look here this is the best freeware F18, just above the picture of the f18 is a link for a P3dv4 beta version 18.4 or a stable version 18.2 if you want to try it the choice is yours.

The default FSX F18 don't work in P3DV4.

As DaveT explains the FSXBA F/A-18C HORNET is the best F18 available for P3DV4

I can confirm the two replies above.
The problem with the FSX default F-18 is that all its gauges are inside a .GAU or .DLL file, which is in 32 bits. Because of this, these gauges cannot work in P3Dv4 (which is 64 bits).
The FSXBA Hornet is the best freeware hornet available, and it has much more advanced systems and realism than the default F-18.

I missed that it's the same aircraft, is it the latest version for P3dv4 or up to v3? A separate version with 64bit compatibility for V4 stable version is the same 18.3 5th May 2018 and the latest trial version both FSX and P3dv4 ver 18.4 and both dated 31st August 2018.

Works perfectly in P3D4. I took the shots for FB in P3D4 :)
It was also on the front page 'News & Hot Picks' for more than a month. Good to see it's still progressing!
