How do I get the Harrier to land Vertically. It seems OK in FSX but not in P3D v4

in order to go VTOL in my harrier full flaps need to be applied. that will swivel the vectored exhaust toward the ground

Hi

1st if it will show up in P3D4 then it must be a FSX native model. Not sure of a Harrier II?

Can you please tell us what exact model you are referring to? The only FSX native Harrier I know of it this

r 2 is the best I can do. Everything works fine in P3D except the VTOL.

The bottom thrust duct has a position forward of the vertical. When you move the duct too fast you can sometimes pass the vertical position and the aircraft will back up. Only answer I can think of for your problem.

Good Luck,

Where did you get this Harrier? Payware or free download?

Because whatever Harrier package you have (other then the payware SSW Harrier), is missing a 64-bit version of the gauge that interacts with SimConnect (needed to make your Harrier perform true VTOL)

Mr Rob Barendregt. Thank you for your ground breaking files!

Can we get a 64bit version of this and put it into an existing FSX/P3D file? For example the UKMil Harrier, rcb-gauges folder?

I just downloaded this FSX UKMIL Harrier package from Simviation (see link in previous post), but I'm afraid there is a lot more to it to have this UKMIL Harrier working properly in P3Dv4.

Not just the VTOL gauge needs a 64-bit compiled version, but ALL other .gau and .dll files in the panel folder.

Some of which I have, some I don;t have (e.g. instrument gauges, like f16.gau and M4000.gau).

So even if you can get it to do true VTOL (which is simple gauge exchange), there's still a lot of other things that won't work.
Sorry, I don't have the time now to dig into this further, because replacing some of these other gauges even require other code changes then simply replacing the 32-bit version with a 64-bit alternative.

Thank you sir.

I may try tinkering with the panel gauges (replacing them) myself now that I know 64bit versions may make the whole thing compatible with v4.

No. Just pre-compiled (C/C++) gauges like .dll and .gau.
