Moving default eye point.

Prepar3D - Lockheed Martin has taken the FSX platform into a new level aimed at the professional.

Moving default eye point.

In P3D the default eye point in spot view mode for the Beechcraft Baron seems too close while the eye point for the larger craft seems too distant. I'd like the bigger aircraft to actually look bigger without using Ctrl - or +

I've looked at the individual aircraft Config file and I can't find anything to alter that works. The Camera Config for spot view can be adjusted but that effects all aircraft the same. Perhaps I'm missing something.

the a320 I've used below is an imported model but the same eye point problem occurs with the other P3D models.

This is what I do (my example using FS 2004) to change the Point of View, individually for each aircraft:

in the top menu I click on ViEWS & pick up ViEW OPTiONS, to open...

...this window: now you can modify the DiSTANCE to your preference...

...in this case, from 65ft to 35ft. Do not forget to click OK at the bottom!!

SUCCESS!! :clap:

I hope this helps you :think:

Thanks Jean but I'm using P3D.

P3D has an option to create a custom camera by altering the X,Y,Z, this achieves the same result as your suggestion for FSX. In P3D the custom camera positions are saved with the flight but if I create a new scenario I have to recreate the custom camera positions again.

What I was hoping to achieve was to alter the default eye point (view point) for individual aircraft so they always load up how I want them. There must be a setting I can alter in the aircraft files somewhere, blowed if I can find it though.

In the Aircraft Cfg. file there is a views section like this:

[Views]
eyepoint = -1.58, 0.0, 1.47

Changing the numbers moves the default position of the VC camera :D
