In spite of all the protestations that NVidia was the best for Prepared V2.x, it has for the most part been theoretical.

Now Nvidia fans are reporting VERY significant improvements. Not only with the standard NVidia cards, but with SLI setups too!


Assuming that AMD does nothing to improve their cards, re. Prepar3d, I might be returning to NVidia after a five year separation.


Lets hope for the best.

I'm still waiting to know when is a good time to purchase a new (academic) version of P3D (I did buy the 1st version -- which is FSX)

With bugs/updates etc, I hear about -- I keep thinking 'not just yet .... '

I'll def. get it when the dust has settled a while .... and all seems stable ....

At this point you may want to just wait.

In spite of the "Prepar3d is better than FSX" crowed, the difference isn't all that staggering.



However, there are hints on the LM Prepar3d site that the next update is coming soon.

How soon is "soon"? We'll just have to wait.

My bet is that it'll come out on the same day that the Orbx North America OpenLC comes out.

And when 's that going to happen? Soon.


But due to the long delay, I suspect that at least a few of the bigger problems will be fixed.

At that point, you might as well get it. That should give you an indication of the future flight sims.



Alternately, you could wait for Prepar3d V3.x.

THAT! however will probably require a new computer for many of us.

The last version before Prepar3d V3.x may be the best version for those without the money for a fairly large upgrade.

Being so close to retirement, I'm not sure that I'll be in that group.

You mean when it's as stable as FSX?

I still can't use New York City X without FSX or P3d crashing. Usually in 20 seconds flat!
