F35 Simulator

Prepar3D - Lockheed Martin has taken the FSX platform into a new level aimed at the professional.

F35 Simulator

Postby RAFSB » Tue Apr 09, 2013 4:57 am

We have finished testing Dino Cattaneos freeware F-35 in Prepar3d. Today we start to place the computer into the cockpit. The lower monitor is going to be replaced with a touch screen monitor thus eliminating a "mouse" :)
Here is a shot of our work so far. It will be completed on Friday April 15th.

Impressive.

Love to see how this progresses.

We've just started a major modification. We are moving the large panel up to where the keyboard is as this is where the real panel is in the F-35.

I'll update as soon as possible.

Ok we have finished moving to 24" panel from low to the proper position as would be in the real F-35 and added the Siatek autopilot. Next will be the radio stack.

Is this going to get a full enclosure?

In that last shot I find the discrepancy between the background vertical and horizontal planes and the aircrafts' "horizon" on the monitors disconcerting.

I know in ny simpit, the impact of the full isolation from exterior enviornment stimulai has an AMAZING effect on realism.

I am working on a similar set-up, but have a 27" center monitor with 2 24" monitors set in the vertical plane either side. the multi function monitor is a 22" ye I have nothing to show as of now, but the concept is making progress. Most of my set-up is thanks to J. Baymore's efforts. I have moved house 3 times since I started this. Hold ups are due to compatibility issues with Win 8 and P3D and Saitek's "upgrades". I don't wish to be a party pooper, but I find being an unpaid tester for these outfits a little tiring.

All of us the Aerospace center are volunteers. We do this because we want to have the best to offer the students. And we do not charge. Everything is free here.
Along with the F-35 simulator we have 8 Sims with Prepar3d on them, 3 ship simulators, one 2 place UAV simulator, 22 simulators with FS2004 installed and a 60 foot space shuttle simulator under construction. :)

This afternoon I got a phone call that suggested that I come out to the Flight Center. When I arrived I found a donated F-16 fiberglass simulator. I guess that's our next project for Prepar3d. Pics as soon as I can get them <<q
