If you unzip terrain zips, will CFS3 run smoother?

The latest Air Battle game from Microsoft! Running on an entirely new platform, CFS3 is raising it's fair share of problems & opinions - Good & Bad!

If you unzip terrain zips, will CFS3 run smoother?

I notice that the terrain folders for CFS3 are full of zipped files. Does CFS3 actually unzip these whilst you're flying? If so, that surely would make the game run slower than if the files were already unzipped.
So, is it a good idea to unzip those files, since everyone has massive hard-drives these days? Or does it work differently to how I'm thinking?

No, it won't do anything good at all.
CFS3 reads zip files at startup and creates the binary zx files from them which are faster to read than the unzipped stuff.
