How do I add keyboard assignment for Autopilot ?

Understanding that Autopilot is CTRL+SHIFT+A, how do I add a new keyboard or joystick assignment to it?

Within control options, under all commands (or any of the sub-sections for that matter), I do not see Autopilot.

And since I do not see it in control options, I cannot add a new keyboard assignment to it.

How do I re-assign Autopilot is CFS3?

Thanks !

I don't believe there would be an auto-pilot, it would make the sim unreal

I fly CFS3 too, and when i go in any of the gunner positions, it says in the top of the screen "pilot has control of the airplane" or something like that. When i go back in pilot seat it says "you have control of the airplane" so i really dont need any autopilot, and i didn't even know that there were one :)

Basically you need a programmable joystick like the CH series, and you need to add the CTRL+SHIFT+A combination to one of the programmable buttons. That particular combination seems to be hard-wired in the Sim, so you can't alter it in the CFS3 keyboard assignments screen.
"Automatic Flight Control Equipment (A.F.C.E)" was installed in B-17s. The B-25C and D Mitchell Bombers had "Automatic Flight Control Systems", and later models had the " type A-3 Automatic Pilot". It says so in the Pilot's Manual.
Since the B-25C Mitchell is native to CFS3, and the B-17 readily available from commercial add-ons such as "Memphis Belle" and "Firepower", and freeware from our friends at AV History, an autopilot would seem appropriate, even though in CFS3 it is less sophisticated than that used in the real aircraft.

I may be mistaken but when you jump to another seat CFS3 goes to auto pilot and states the pilot is in control of the plane.
Even if you click the only auto pilot mentioned it will do the same thing.
That is; revert to the prescribed course, speed and altitude as it does when you jump to the rear gunner position.
If there was a way to go to auto pilot and set new control parameters for the given situation it would certainly be an improvement.
I am not aware of how to do this.
Is someone else???
Is there any mod to allow more options other than auto pilot reverting to the set flight plan???
I have (usually) tried to route bomber missions (Complete BoB Missions exp) to a practical escape route which allows player to jump to a gunner seat without the plane automatically reversing course and into the wrong situations but as we know that does not always work.
Personally, I know I need to turn the plane into its next waypoint path before manning a gun and if drastic measures (like diving for the deck) are required I do not leave the pilot's position and must rely on my ai gunner.
This may be hard coded but if so is there a definitive answer??

Anyone??? Anyone??? ::)
