CFS3 will not run on my system. It will load, but within moments, it crashes. See signature for system specs

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Hello Everyone
I had this problem, "cfs3 crashing a few seconds after loading game" when i bought my new pc with vista 32bit home edition, i believe the problem is with newer nvidia drivers, i have an 8800gtx card, going to the nvidia site driver archive i  just kept going back until i found a driver edition that worked can't remember exactly which one but it was around version 98.00   then i had no problems running CFS3, hope that is of help.

...an excellent tip there...
When it comes to Graphics Card Drivers...newer is not always better!....Trust me!... ;)...!

I often have to install older Drivers to get certain programs to run well/problem-free...)...!

Paul...G-BPLF...Win XP/nVidia 7800GS/FS 2004/CFS2... 8-)...!

P.S. Very often you will find that the most reliable Drivers are on the CD that came with your Graphics Card...;)...!

Same problem - the newest driver I found that works (8800GTXcard) is 162.50.  Try it.

Re: CFS3 & Vista and lan play

Postby dan hanke » Mon May 12, 2008 12:41 pm

cfs3 runs fine on my vista box and my xp box. i just cannot connect over the lan, and yes i've tried everything in the forums. of all my games; cfs, cfs2, cfs3, il2 46, il2 sturmovik, wwii fighters, janes attack sqn, and eaw the only one which works is eaw! the oldest of the lot works! LOL! I have had some limited success with every one except cfs3, but eaw is the only one which plays without crashing!
perhaps i should capitalize EAW? LOL! the il2 series flight models suck for casual fliers and i'm just playing on the lan with my children.
