need help with cf3 just bought

i have been flying cfs for years and switched to cfs3 this weekend.   Installed and did the 3.1 update. I cant see the instriument panel unless i pan down i do have hud is this normal? Also having a hard time seeing the planes in combat very small even at 200 yds. seemed like in the older versions they looked bigger. I have tried different resolution settings. Also joystick seems to over responding. Any input will help thanks. :-/

CFS3 has no flat 2d panel, it's virtual 3d cockpit all the way.
The default zoom in the cockpit is very narrow, I think it's the + - keys to zoom in and out.
If you accidently switched to hud view hit F3 (I believe).

In CFS1 the AI planes where sized up 3 times.
From CFS2 onwards AI planes use the same size as the player aircraft.

There's a utility that can be downloaded from this site that gives the default cockpit a wider few than normally shows. It's in the CFS3 downloads sections.
It's called something like wide-view.
