Flight dynamics of addon planes

Hi all, first time posting on this area of the forum, but I'm a regular elsewhere on Simviation.

I've had a copy of CFS3 for quite some time.  I was initially turned off to the program when I first installed it due to the flight modeling of the default planes, they just weren't nearly as "real" feeling as the planes in MSFS9.  I place a very high emphasis on flight modeling in combat sims (not so much in civilian sims) so this disappointed me enough that the game lasted a total of one week on my system and I deleted it.

I've heard from other forums that the addon planes fly much better than the default planes.  Is this true?  In order for me to get interested in this game again I'd like the planes to fly at least as well as the MSFS9 default planes, although even this would be sub-par for me.

I'd like a good WWII combat sim and am considering buying IL2 but I feel bad since I already have a perfectly good unused copy of CFS3 sitting on my shelf.

Avhistory's 1% aircraft are supposed to be realistic

The 1% crew make it their business to create flightmodels that are within 1% of the real thing. They've just revamped their whole process so the models they're producing now should be the most accurate ever.

If it's flight dynamic realism you're after then you really don't want IL2 or any of it's spawn. The fanboys might think it's realistic but aviation wouldn't exist if it was.

I have LOMAC, which I believe is from the same development team, and find it to have one of the most accurate flight models of anything I've flown on PC.  I've never tried IL2 but would be suprised if they got it so right with LOMAC and so wrong with IL2.  But I'll give the avhistory guys a try.  Right now I can't seem to find their download page, seems the link isn't an actual link...

There is no connection between Lomac (Eagle Dynamics ) & IL2 (IC Maddox).

If you scroll down the page on the avhistory site you will see on the right hand side a columb of the latest releases for download.

Also, if you wait for the page to fully load, then hover your mouse over where it says CFS3 1% downloads, then you will see a drop down menu of various nations. Move the mouse down and you will then be given catigorys for each nation, choose one and you'll then be able to see what they've done and what they want to do.
