After reading a few posts and seeing Michael's shots, I am interested in it.
Where is it and how do I get it?

Thanks,

Dave the CFS3 newbie  :P

OFF is a separate CFS3 install in the same vein as Goldenwings/Silverwings is a separate FS2004 install.

It tops and tails the basic CFS3 flight/damage engine with WWI planes/weapons/scenery. It's also got some lovely birdsong and barking dogs if you sit with the engine off.

OFF

I played it a few times, but I found the options and setup pages More cumbersome and counter intuitive than CFS3 (almost as bad as CFS2 ;) :P ). I also was not a good pilot ;D

Still, all good fun :)

The "official" discussion forum for "OFF" is over at Sim-Outhouse, where you can find heaps of information and help if you need it ... often from the development team members themselves.

"OFF" Forum:  http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/forumdisplay.php?f=8

There are also a number of (semi) regular on-line missions being flown, some at times friendly for UK/USA participants, and some also at Aussie-firendly times.

Heaps of fun ... and the scenery is WAY better than you'll find in CFS3  ;)

Cheers - GhostFlyer

I've given it a try and it's a very professional and awesome piece of work.
However, to play it, you have to keep putting the CFS3 disk in the drive, and watching it toast itself, which is a real pain.
For obvious reasons, I don't have to put the CFS3 disk in the drive when I play CFS3

Yes I know, but that's just puts me into a SimHQ loop. So I tend to then go and do something else more rewarding  8)

Well thanks anyway.

If anyone from a big corporation with more money than they deserve, due to crushing competitors in unfair ways, and twisting legal arguments, should read this thread; then perhaps they'd like to consider this:

I usually do not buy a Flight Sim until it's been out a while. That way I can check if there's a way of avoiding keeping the disk in the tray whilst I'm playing. Until I can confirm the existence of an avoidance ploy, I do not buy.

That's not exactly going to dent their obscene profits. But then hardly anything will.
