I believe I have seen a plane that "technically" had a rear view mirror, but really all it was was another view.

The IL-2 series features an actual rear-view mirror, but it ain't going to be much use since the view in the mirror is restricting and the eyepoint position makes it harder to check your six with it.

EDIT: Solution, look over your shoulder. ::)

Members what you do not understand is that a rear view mirror would take a lot resources of you PC there for not ideal for todays Combat Simulators.

Flight Simulator are driving our PC of today to their limits.

Its just not worthy. The only Simulator that you perhaps you can mimic one is CFS2 with the upper left screen view capability.

The problem with that is that your frame rate will drop dramaticaly. Its just not worth it.

A important thing to have or adquire is a Sixth sense awareness of what going around you. Even todays pilots need this sixth sense  to bee able to sirvive  modern air combat conditions.

The only way to be able to have this awareness as a secound nature sense is to practice and practice.

It does not matter what Simulator you are flying in.  The same rule will always apply.

Good luck and good Hunting

Back in '98 I brought my very first Flight Sim. Su27 Flanker, the game that preceeded Flanker 2.0. You could have combat mirrors in that if you wanted them. They don't take up too much resources. It's my belief that they have been left out either intentionally (i.e. considered pointless by the designers) or unintentionally (meaning an over sight). They're something I've wanted since CFS1 though and I've always known it possible.
