Hi all...is it normal for my bomber to yaw about all over the sky from a nice steady level flight when I switch to the the gunner turrets?. :-/......Alan

Unfortunately yes.
Depends a bit on how good you have trimmed though and how good the flight dynamics are developed, other than that not much you can do.

Oh, I should add, when you switch to the gunner position the AI will take over (obviously, LOL) and try to bring the plane back on the scripted course, speed and altitude, part of the bouncing pony fun.
If you want to come around this part of the issue turn on the autopilot (CTRL + Shift + A) before jumping to the gunner station.
