Simulation Rate

Hi all. I have recently upgraded CFS3 with Just Flight's 'Battle of Britain' add on and since doing this have experienced a few problems with the speed/rate of the sim. When I start/continue a new campaign or mission it loads up fine but once into the mission everything is double speed.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on how to fix it as it makes downing Heinkels a bit of a nightmare

Cheers

WOW that's an odd one, never heard that before.
Ok, don't know why time compresssion starts automatically on your rig but there may be a workaround.
Time compression is usually just enabled when you alter your CFS3 desktop shortcut.
Do the following:
right-click on your CFS3 desktop icon, select "properties".
In the target line add -time so that it looks something like this:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 3\cfs3.exe" -time

This should "officially" enable time compression.
Keyboard shortcuts would be

CTRL + Shift + E to increase
CTRL + Shift + R to decrease time compression.

Thanks for the reply,

I altered the txt in the target window and this did actually sort the prob last nite but i have tried to fly missions again today but it has returned to the original problem. I checked the shortcut properties again to make sure the amendment was still there and it is so I'm well confused now.

Also as a test i uninstalled the Battle of Britain add-on so i only have the original CFS3 setup and the problem has ceased to occur so it must be some kinda conflict with the add-on software.

Help! Any ideas anyone

Cheers

Hmm, I don't think that the BoB addon can cause this.
CFS3 can be a bitch at times.
Have you considered a complete uninstall - reinstall?
It's kinda like the hammer method but helps in most cases.
If you do so make shure to delete the following folders before reinstalling:

c:\documents and setting\your user name\application data\microsoft\combat flight simulator 3.0

and

c:\documents and setting\your user name\my files\combat flight simulator 3.0

I did reinstall the game but my saved campaigns were still there - must have left those files. Will try to uninstall totally shortly.

Incidentally though I did notice that its not only the 'actual flying' that is speeded up. On the main menu my current aircraft is viewed and the camera pans round as normal but this is also fast.
