CFS3 - Installation Problem

Why won't CSF3 load everything on my hard disk ? When I start it up a message appears that tells me to place the correct disk in the drive, and the darn thing won't start until I do.

What can I do to get around this - I don't like having to keep the disk handy so that I can insert it when I want to run CDF3.

I've only had this for a couple of days and my opinion may change - and I hope it does - but right now I'm somewhat less than impressed with CFS3 as compared with Flight Sim. 2002. It seems rather crude with lots of rough edges.

First I want to get this disk problem resolved - so I need help again.

This is not a problem. FS2002 & FS98 are the only M$ sims that will run without a CD in the drive. You can fix this by downloading the CFS3 No-CD patch here. http://www.simviation.com/cfs3utilities1.htm

Make sure you install the CFS3 Update first. http://www.microsoft.com/games/combatfs3/

PS. Maybe someone will confirm this as I don't have CFS3 installed.

Right that, before installing the no-CD apply the 3.1 update.

Whatever happened to the 3.0 patch?  I clearly remember there was one.

Right - My CFS3 is version 3.1 so I guess that the 3.1 patch is already included - Correct ?
