One thing that really annoys me about CFS3 is the fact that you cant get advanced weather options! Unless someone makes seperate weather conditions then i'm guessing i'm screwed right? How do people make new weather conditions for three?

Well, i downloaded some new clouds off a site. They look excellant.. And i love the way like in CFS2 you can have the advanced weather options. Adding layering etc. But in three you cant. Sooooo, if i did want a specific set of weather etc...would i have to edit the clouds.XMl file...And if so how?

Hi
Claim no expertise here.
You can build up complex weather - open your 'weather' folder, within is the 'clouds' subfolder with your building blocks - the .xml files in the 'weather' folder are composites of one or more cloud types + rain/snow + wind. And you can add in specific weather at specified locations. All can be generalised or developed for specific mission(s).
.xml files can be built or edited in NotePad or XML Editor.
Some new clouds and weather have been added by third parties (but it is not a huge area - not like a/c or skins) - try the SOH d/l sections - look out for Dexmeister's 'dynamic' weather.
Plenty of scope for someone to become the weather expert.

Ime just playing with this also, so when my squad flies a mission we have custom weather. Like last night we flew out of our airbase with a 15knot x-wind on departure lightly cloudy skies. about 15 minutes later we hit some thunderstorms and had rain showers as we were flying over the seas. This went on till just about the target area and then the weather let up. It was good fun and a great change of pace to have to do x-wind landings also.

Hi RAAF453_Goose,
Now that I understand your question was going to mention what everyone else has, but why should I bother? Everyone else's explainations are good enough I think.
Glad to here you figured it out.

Hi
RAAF453_Goose - good question.
Would certainly appreciate someone explaining how those colour codes are made up - three 'primary' colours perhaps, but the 1st/10th digit?
Thanks - Capt Black

You can't add clouds in CFS3 like you did in CFS2! CFS3 uses a whole new different engine!

I did realise that if you read my first post properly. I wanted to know how to make new clouds...
