Almost There...

The latest Air Battle game from Microsoft! Running on an entirely new platform, CFS3 is raising it's fair share of problems & opinions - Good & Bad!

Almost There...

Lately, I've gotten CFS3 to near the coolness factor of CFS2 with some modifications.
  • Corrected all that PC crap Microsoft has to put in about no Hakenkreuzes.
  • Elliminated two sound errors:
    • Low AI engine volume.
    • Radio stuttering.
But there are a few things that still need to be taken care of.
  • How do I add a country?  (No, I'm not going to download the packs, I'm a do it yourself kind of guy)
  • My texture detail got stuck on 1 today, no matter what setting I put it on.
  • How do I get that nifty screen in CFS3 config with all those checkboxes?  All I can select is default settings, and custom settings.  Custom settings just allows you to tinker with the display options you can mess with preflight.

Dang it, the radio stuttering is back. :'( >:( :-X
Frustrating! >:( >:(

But the textures are back to normal. :P

Danny, all I can select is:

  • File
    • Safest Settings
    • Default Settings
    • Custom Settings
    • Change Display Options
    • Exit
  • Help
    • Troubleshooting

I've searched every nook and cranny of cfs3config.exe as far as I know and all I can edit is stuff I could modify in game (detail settings, resolution etc.), no nifty stuff.

One Step Closer

Scratch one problem, after toying around with sound card drivers and the CFS Insider site, I've gotten the radio stutter to stop reliably by elimination automatic virtual memory.  It's now permanatly set at 500.

Whoo! ::)

Forgive me if I come off perturbed, but I don't know how many times I've said it, so I guess I'll have to show it.

This is as advanced (custom options screen) as my configuration gets.
