This is from hte BoB RAF Fighter mission set. There are tutorials for installing weapons, missions, facilities etc in that set. This is for using win zip to extract to folders. If you have XP, you can still get a free "evaluation" Wizip from them to use this as most find it easier than explorer.

Assuming you have downloaded a zip file to the folder of your choice (outside Combat
Flight Simulator3) and you now wish to add it to the game.
Remember, one step at a time and you will have it mastered!
Installing an add-on airplane,
Right click once over the zip file you are installing
Scroll down to "Extract to… Left click one time.
Click "I agree"
A window of the zip will appear and then another boxed window over that which will show your Computer information.
Double click your local disk "C" drive"
Now double click "Program files"
Scroll down to "Microsoft games" and double click.
Double click "Combat Flight Simulator 3"
NOW listen. ""One"" that is "one" click the aircraft folder. It will appear open. Do not double click!!!!!!
After that ONE click, go to the upper right of this window box and click EXTRACT.
The files will all go into the aircraft folder and you will have a new airplane in your game.
Start CFS3, the game.
Go to quick combat, click the country of the new plane, and scroll down until you see it. It should appear the same as the zip folder name. Give it a trial flight, fire the guns and make sure all is right. You can now do this to all the planes you need that don't have self-installers.
All Aviation History planes use their own (much improved) weapons pack.
See the tutorial for installing that which is very similar to installing the aircraft, but there are a couple important differences.
