What Am I Doin' Wrong?

Whenever I fly the B-26 in CFS3 I can never get the bomb bay doors to open. I hit Shift + 8 as the manual indicates, but it never works.
What else do I need to do?
Help!!!!

Try Shift+B, not eight.
