Bf110 Fuel Problems

I was just flying a campaign mission when I noticed this: when I select 100% fuel, my tanks are only 67% full at the beginning of the mission.  I can only get 100% fuel if I carry drop tanks.  it's a big pain in the @$$, because i have to carry drop tanks just be able to go as far as a single engine aircraft can when it isn't carryng tanks.

The missions I built for GC 110s (some time a go now)were in defense of the Reich and required little range. But, the fuel in most single engine planes is wrong, they go way to far. Knowing GC, I would guess, and I am guessing, they have it correct. Do you run full mixture? What throttle % do you use? Both big factors. These planes were meant for 100% flying. Hopefully, Mathias will come along and explain this in proper detail.

wwatkins, the BF110's fuel needle is configured to include droptank fuel, thus you have a lower level when no droptanks are seleced.

True.  I can fly a P-47D from Britain to western germany and back carrying 2 1000lb bombs, full rich mixture, 100% throttle, and no drop tanks and still have about 20% fuel left when I get back!
