Well I screwed up again

Holly Toledo! >:(
I screwed up the darn game again.  I had to reinstall it because the crosshair got screwed up and was showing up off to the side of the screen (no good for aiming).  Everything was working great just before and now after I reinstalled it, I'm having the same problems as I did when I installed it the first time.  I think that I followed all of your guys' directions properly when I reinstalled, you know: turn off anti virus, run config, switch off dual pass render, check DirX version, newest video drivers, 3.1 update, 3.1 NoCD crack,  blah blah blah. But to no avail! :'(
The game just runs really slowly even in the main menu. I had the same problem when I installed it the first time, but I can't remember what it was that I did  to fix it.
Should I defrag my C drive?
Any other ideas that could help me out will be greatly appreciated.

I tried installing the game again and now the game is even more screwed up! >:( There isn't even any sound and it's soooo slooooowwww.  I didn't do anything different though!!  Could the information on the disk be degrading or something? Maybe a virus on my system?
ARG FART ARSE! IM SO PISSED! >:(

Darcy:

If that is your real name; ;D ;D

When you uninstall, goto programs files,
games, CFS3 and make sure there are
no files left before reinstalling!!, that
should give you a clean start, it would
not hurt to defrag. but do it when time permits,
Mine takes about 6 hours, 60gb.

Yeah, I did make sure to delete the old file before reinstalling. Didn't help.

Do you have a friend or what ever that has
a computor you could try the program in?
or even run down to the library and try it??
Maybe Hagar can help, he looks early in the

Sure wish I could wiggle my nose and fix it!!! :'(

Even more important than deleting the CFS3 programm root is clearing out the CFS3 folder
which can be found in
C:\documents and settings\current user\application data\microsoft\combat flight simulator 3.0

I couldn't find that file on my coputer, but there is one located in My Documents that might just be the same thing.  There is no "application data" file under current user (OEM) on my comp. I did delete both the CFS3 files before reinstalling last time, nothing different though. I even removed it from my registry, still nothing. Could the installation just be hit or miss? They are old CDs and I have tried to install with them many times before. Could tempurature even be a factor.  I noticed that the CDs wery very warm after installation. Could expansion due to heat garble the information printed on the disc? Just an idea :P
