CFS3 Config.

I remember a post in here about this guy who's plane wouldn't show much damage when he got shot up.  And the answer was changing something in CFS3 Config.  But when I open it I get a box thats mostly blank expect for some information about my video card.  And there is nothing in the File and Help sections that help.  What do I do?

Ok heres what you do. Click file then select "Custom settings". This will take you to a screen where you change the detail levels around. In the top left hand corner there is a button labled "Window" click on that and select "overrides". You will now be faced with a large selection of tick boxes. To get damage and markings to show up on a plane deselect the box labled "duel pass render". This should get them working.

In the long run I recommend a new graphics card though.

Thank you so much Woodlouse!  There was one box that said disable water animations, it was checked off, I didn't know the water was animated.  What kind of stuff will that do?

Eat your frame rates I suppose. I don't know actually. Its disabled on mine too. :P

Enable coastlines though. There a real must.

Thanks for the tip, but I followed your instructions and now instead of showing some damage it shows none at all, I think I was better off with Dual Pass Render checked off.

Hmm I had that problem. Try rechecking it and experiment some more.

As for the intro movie do you have the patch? The unpatched version doesn't play the movie.

Oh...No I don't have the patch, I've heard that it messes with stuff, like addons.

I think that if you are to install the patch then you should remove all addons then put them back when your done.

I have no complaints with the patch, it fixes bugs, increases frame rates and makes bombers act more realistic.

Anyway new vid card and more RAM will make a world of differance to any system. Good luck. ;)
