Shot by my own side

The latest Air Battle game from Microsoft! Running on an entirely new platform, CFS3 is raising it's fair share of problems & opinions - Good & Bad!

Shot by my own side

Postby bm » Sun May 18, 2003 5:45 am

This has happened to me several times so its quite amusing.

Image

I was attacking a formation of B-25's, (with a spit, yes) and from behind me Arthur Marlowe came behind me to shoot at the same bomber, suddenly I had a hail of bullets flying past me, I paused a few seconds later as I knew something was wrong, He'd taken out my ******* wing withouteven saying sorry!  This shows CFS3's beautiful graphics on a GForce 4.

Hi Birdman...!
..serves you right for indulging in all this flippin' shooting and bombing each other, malarkey..... ;D...!
If you pop over to FS 2002, you can fly around with no fear of being shot at... ;)...!
...much less stressfull, and life extending... ;D...!
LOL...LOL...LOL..!

Cheers Mate... ;D...!

Aye, its a dangerous game ;D but I don't need anyone to shoot at me :-[ - lets just say you wouldn't want to go anywhere near a plane with me at the controls ;) as your life would be just as short :o. (when I get the picture to the left working you'll see what I mean :(). Thats also why I was attacking bombers, in theory its quite easy >:(!

I had that happen to me once, but I was flyin' my good ol' jug and didn't go in.  I was flying a CAP mission and had a good deflection shot going on the last Ju 88, when I heard some pins, I looked back to see Tom Hood shooting away at me, and then my jug snapped over and went into a dive spinning.  I looked to the right and my wing tip was missing.  I wasn't to low, about 5,000ft, so I kicked in some right rudder and leveled out, as that @#%$ stole my kill.  It's kinda hard fling a plane that's missing parts so I headed back to base, and put her down.  It wasn't a bad mission though.  Tom Hood and I both shot down one each and the other crashed into the flak guns they were bombing.  So now I'm up to 8 kills, which is pretty respectible for a 9th Air Force fighter-bomber pilot. :)

Well losing a wingtip at 5000 feet is not too bad. I lost a wingtip off my Corsair at about 10 feet. Guess what I lost the wingtip on...

Thats right. I hit a Locomotive! :P

Let's make it like the old ACES sim - shoot down your wingman and you get prison in the USAAF - Russian front, executed by firing squad in the Luftwaffe! I know, i used to do it for fun to see how long it took for the game to decide to execute.  ;D

I'm not really the one to ask :-[ but here you go......

Wait until a 'photo opportunity' arises and pause the game, using spot or whatever view you want find the best angle. Then press 'print screen' (usually to the top right of your keypad in a line of three).  Minimize the program to the desktop by pressing 'alt' and 'tab' (the button with the two arrows).
Open a paint or photo program (eg. paint or Irfanview) and press 'Ctrl'+'V' or 'edit/paste'. Then just resize your photo and save as JPG. If you want to use the photo on the forums check the file size of your picture (under 100k) and upload at the forum upload page and follow instructions.
Irfanview is great as you can just select the size of your picture. (and its free to download ;D).
There are programs to download to take screenshots for you but I havent looked into them.
Hope this is right, if not there are plenty of tutorials around.....by people who know more :'(.
