I think IL-2 is a bed game and not realistic, also bad grafic. I think cfs 3 is the best simulator' most realistic and best grafic.Image

IL-2 is a arcade game. A good one at that. CFS3 is a true flight simulator. My kids smoke me in any first person shooter game, but they can barely fly level in CFS3. They can however play and excel in IL-2. So to answer your question neither is straight up better, it just depends on what your skills are and what type of game you like to play.

I've got both, and I only play CFS3. Think that says it all for me!

I just bought and installed IL2, Forgotten Battles, the sequel to IL2..  It is, in my humble opinion, Far, Far, superior to CFS3. The graphics are better, the missions are more realistic, combat damage more realistic, etc, etc, etc, ad infinitum!

Try it, you'll like it!

I have IL-2 and CFS3 too. I only look at IL2 for the eye candy.

Il-2 had amazing graphics and damage effects but the flight dynamics and gunnery are really unrealistic and the campaigns are boring.

CFS3 picks up on everything IL2 lacks and more. I find it far more entertaining and it already has more 3rd party stuff than IL2.

So in my book. CFS3 wins.

Il-2 flies great right out of the box!!  No tweeking, no adjusting, no down loading drivers or extream patches.  I'm sure there's plenty of loyality to the MS product and that those who have gotten CFS3 to run think its great, but it should have worked right without all that effort.
