? Using Downloaded A/C in CFS3 Campaigns

Hello Everyone,
I hope that you folks will come to my rescue once again. I've downloaded a number of planes from the folks over at Mudpond and I've unzipped them into my aircraft file. I'm able to use each and every one in Quick Combat, but for some reason, the planes don't show up as possible selections for campaigns. Now here's the interesting part...when flying a campaign using the stock aircraft supplied, the labels assigned to the opposing aircraft identify them as being one of the downloads! So...anybody got any bright ideas about using downloaded airplanes in campaigns? This worked just great in CFS2.
Thanks,
Boxer

I never got downloaded aircraft for campaigns in CFS3... :(...

Hmmm...it depends on the realease date of the aircraft.  For example, the Tempest is available at the beginning of the campaign is it?  That's becasue it's release date was sometime 1944... :) ;)

You have to add your downloaded AC to the TechTree of the fortress europa.xml wich can be found in your CFS3\campaigns folder and start a new campaign.
To edit the file, open it using either a text editor or an xml editor, search for the TechTree section and enter the folder name of the new AC to this section using the same format as shown there and edit the "entered service" part appropriate.

Mathias has the idea.

I wrote a tutorial on this shortly after the release of CFS3. It's somewhere around here ::)

If you still need help, PM me and i'll try to dig up my tutorial
