I may be old, but I can still learn. The Sybex CFS 3 "Official Strategies and Secrets" is out and can be had from Barnes and Noble if you're willing to wait tow weeks for it, or from Amazon.com if you're not.
Like many of the correspondents here, my first worries were about getting "The Damned Thing" (Apologies to Stephen Ambrose.) to run, at all. Once I came to peace with the software vs. computer.
Microsoft, as usual, has little or nothing about how to play the game, the meanings of the little squares, triangles, funny lines that appear on the screen. Player is given no clue that there might be information hidden in these incredably crude entries on the screen.
I'm glad I spent the twenty-odd dollars for the book. It is head and shoulders above the trashy little tome I once bought for CFS1. It makes the Campaign phase of the sim understadable, and ....dare I say it, even fun.
