Joystick Calibration

I'm reasonably new to all this flightsim game so would like some help if possible.

I have a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. For quite a while now it often loses calibration during games (use XP Home). Takes disconnection and reconnection to fix.

Lately this will not fix and I suspect it on way out. Would others agree.

Does anyone have recommendation on a new joystick?
