Well,
let me start with the aircraft mismatch from those different games... I dont know if the CFS3 swap utility is still available, havent seen it, but really havent looked hard either, but it resolves that mismatch issue fast and easy.
I have every AVHistory a/c in my swap folder, and find them fun to use, but for stock games, and alot of the missions I fly, had them , listed as user a/c's , so I edited those missions to use stock , to give more to my fun , as well as other who flew with me.
---------------
as to the sound, it doesnt really improve FPS, it "smooth's" out some stuttering. I still see alot there that dont have a clue, ... and it's almost comical as much as annoying, that those that do that , are also "usually" the rudest , when you mention it.
They are the ones that are so impatient, when I do my "soapbox" in the pre-launch, about getting HERE , to get the facts and help for the issues they share with those of us, who have smooth running games, and systems.
I uploaded , an HTML zip file on one part of these things, I mention here, and will complete the others soon for the same reason, lets have fun with it all.
I also fly IL2 merged, and find theres alot of Big heads, there , that think CFS3 is the pits, I totally disagree , with that.
I find they both have pluses, and hope to get more help out to those that want CFS3 to fly right, to have it that way.
In your ingame sound settings, roll , all the sliders back to 30 or less. Effects are the biggest hit... mines @ 20. then if it isnt loud enough, turn up the pc's volume, to get the sound again.
the end result will be less stutter from them who dont care to find this out, and smoother play for those that do employ it.
another point is your connection settings in Multiplayer options..... be certain your location as well as type is set right... this enhances the games performance also. ( you can cheat it a bit, if your system runs good , by upping the type, but that doesnt always help )
