CH Pro Pedals Not Working on CFS3

Postby triebs2 » Wed Apr 06, 2005 12:34 pm

OK, almost 15 months after I bought CFS3 I actually have a system that can make it work at a decent frame rate, so I am starting to try flying it again.

My first takeoff attempt (auto rudder disabled) found me lying in a ditch to the right side of the runway. Short story: my CH rudder pedals are controlling the wrong things. The pedals do nothing, and the toe brakes put me in a nose down yaw right configuration (not ideal). They calibrate just fine. I tried to add them as an assignment to the rudder controls - nothing is working.

I did a google search and a search of this forum, so I hope I am not asking a FAQ. Thanks for any advice.

(I have downloaded the latest drivers and MS updates)

Mine have always worked too. I didn't know there was a problem.
I use the CH Control Panel, with the Yoke, Throttle, Quad Throttle and Pedals as four separate controllers, and CFS3 sees them all.

I got it figured out, thanks for the help. I just had to select the pedals, delete the x and y  and z axis (which were set to the ailerons, elevators, and throttle even though the controller was for rudder pedals) and reassign the axis settings to the rudder and toe brakes.

Lesson learned: When using them for the first time, CFS3 may think that your rudder pedals are a normal joystick.

Now, if I can just figure out how to bomb a ship, shoot down a bomber before running out of ammo, and survive a strafing attack on an enemy airport, I'll be in good shape.
