CFS 3, why have you betrayed me?......wwwhhhyyy?

Ok, heres the story, I was flying my spit (like usual) and the weather was set to thunderheads and there were no enemy aircrafts withing at least 5 NM of me and flak was set to off. I flew through a cloud and suddendly BOOM and my aircraft blew apart . I swaped to the outside view, my left wing was totally gone , but I didn't see any bullet holes or anything like that, whats up with that??? Could I have been struck by lightning????

BTW, I didn't overs stress my aircraft, I was in like a 10 degree climb.

P.S. This been bugging me for a while, but one of my favorite repaints for the stock Spit IX sometimes turns all white, (the texture disappears) anyone knows whats going on

I have no idea on the all-white variant, but as for the wing, something must have hit you. Could have been AA, another plane (possibly clipping a wingman?) or the really odd one (this happened to me once) a bomb landing on you

My wingmen are forever chopping bits off my plane Last quick combat I did one of my wingmen decided to attack my target and chopped off my left wing whilst trying to get into possition. I sometimes used to get a white aircraft. Happened in CFS2 and 2K2 sometimes too. I have put it down to lack of memory on my old video card as after a few seconds the textures would come back and be OK. Since I added my new card this no longer happens.

About the wing, AA was set to off and no I didn't have a wingman (they always get in my way). Thats why its been bugging me. The only reason I can think of is being struck by lighining, is that even a feature in CFS3? Normally I wouldn't mind getting my wing blown off , but my wing just fell off this time .

So I guess there isn't a fix for the dissappearing textures?, oh well. Gonna ask daddy for a new card .
