Windows 2000 and CH rudder pedals with sidewinder

???
I changed over from W98 to W2K.  I can not get the CH rudder pedals and the Microsoft Sidewinder FF Pro Joystick to operate as they did in W98.  The joystick is the only one functioning.  The pedals do zip.  How do I prevent the joystick operating the rudder and have the pedals do their job?  This problem is presently with CFS1 but suspect I will have the same problem with CFS2 and CFS3.  All worked fine with W98, less the climb forceback with the joystick.  I assume Microsoft has still not addressed that problem.  A point of humor.  I started using the pedals only recently and found it is no easy task to stop twisting the joystick for rudder control.  Old habits are hard to break.  I fly like a dummy and land like a drunk march hare.  Please help.
