Still having problems with Nvidia cards? Try this.

For all of us who still have some stuttering and slow play, you might try this little utility from http://www.guru3d.com , it is called nVhardPage. It allows you to tweak each aspect of the Nvidia drivers to the max and is much easier to use than the Riva Tuner.
I'm still running a P3 750 with 256mb RDRam and a GeForce 4 420mx. I still get around 20-25 fps but after changing some settings with this utility, CFS3 is running just about as smooth as silk with sliders set at 3-4-3-2-2-1. Most of you probably have a faster rig than this and it should help you even more.

I gave the program a try. On the first try, I got some of the most bizzare video problems. I then tried it again with a few changes and now CFS3, CFS2, FS 2003, and NASCAR 2003 run great if not better than before

I'm still playing with some settings as well, but so far the sim is still playing smoother than ever before even though the fps stays the same. I also have gone back and tried CFS and CFS2 and they both are working great.

I downloaded nvhardpage and ran it but I don't really know enough about the settings to use it.  I have a PNY Verto GeForce4 Ti 4200.  Can somebody give me suggestions on what settings to use for CFS, CFS2 and CFS3?

Where can I find out what each setting does?

Use the performance wizard and change one at a time and try it.. Remember what you changed so if it dont work you can put it back the way it was. It may take a bit of time, it its worth it.. I also have a PNY Gforce4 Ti 4200

Hey Warbird, if you hover over the text next to each checkbox with your mouse pointer you will see an explanation of the tweak scrolling across the bottom of the hardpage box. Like Loomex said try one or two at a time, especially on the system tab and direct 3d tab, if they don't help simply uncheck them and try something else. If you get it set up for CFS3 you probably won't have to change anything for the other games. Enabling fast writes for the controller and AGP which allows them to communicate directly by bypassing system mem seemed to help me more than anything because I'm short on RAM. It may or may not help you depending on your system.

thankx for the tip on this utility, it works great, oh , and im running on XP, P1.6,256ddr,gforce2Ti, getting 30-35 high up and flying low 20-25fps.  Running at 343321.
If u do use this gfx tweaker, remember to recheck ur game config, coz i found that it change a few setting when tweaking, and also once u have found the setting u like , save it in the "preset" tab (at the top) as cfs3 or something and u can then setup even higher with nvhard and save it as "best overall" and then just switch between the two.  But i would still advice to use the tweaks on the top post sticky......and cheers everyone whos helped me setup this bloody game, hard work but worth it!!!! :D ;D :D ;D
