Will a FSX multiplayer see and hear an FS9 mulltiplayer?

Postby Russell » Sun Nov 01, 2015 11:42 am

I am wondering, can a FSX user multi-play with a FS9 user? Or, must they both use the same version of MSFS? Thank you..... aviation1972

Hello Russell....

FS 2004 and FSX pilots can both fly with each other in Multiplayer..... :D ...!

Just remember that you will only be seeing your own scenery in the Sim....

...sometimes airfield layouts and elevations can sometimes be slightly different due to slight differences in the scenery mesh...

...but they both work together OK!

FS Host Server caters for FS 2002, FS 2004, and FSX Pilots all flying together.

Paul....G-BPLF.... ....!

Tip: Whichever Sim you are flying, always try to use the Default Aircraft!
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.

Quick question: I have the default AI MD-83 modified to make it flyable. Nothing extra, just copy-pasted the instrument panel from the default 737. Is this likely to cause problems?

Its always worth remembering that Flight Sim Multiplayer was designed to only use any of the standard, DEFAULT flyable aircraft included in the Sim.
That way, they will always be visible, in the correct type and model, to all other Pilots taking part in Multiplayer.
A non-default (downloaded or modified default) aircraft will only be seen by you, in the Sim.
To all other pilots, your aircraft will be replaced by a similar-looking, standard DEFAULT aircraft type and model.

Your non-default aircraft will only be seen by others who have exactly the same downloaded model and type aircraft installed in their Hangar(s)!

All the aircraft in your Hangar can be used in Multiplayer, but only the default, non-modified, craft will be seen by all other pilots engaged in the flight session!

To make things simple, for a quick flight, if all Pilots use exactly the same Default aircraft, they will always be seen correctly by all players!
