Don't forget, Chums...

With the new set of up-dated instructions, and FAQ's, listed above, its really easy-peasy to join in Multiplayer sessions in FS 2002, FS 2004, and FSX, and "fly" with your friends, and folks from all around the World!

All you need is a few bits and bobs from: http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/

...and with "FS Host" you will be up in the air in no time at all!

Come along and join us, we need more of you, otherwise it can get very lonely, up in the wide blue yonder!

Any difficulties...just ask!

Paul...FS 2004+FS Navigator, and FSX.... ...!

How do I do do it, Paul? Take me through it step by step. I've never flown in multiplayer before :?

All the instructions can be found in this Forum, Chuck!

Its easy-peasy...and loads of fun....and educational!

Try this for a start...>>> viewtopic.php?f=52&t=165437

Its nice to take a fellow Flight Simmer on a guided Tour!
I often take fellow my Multiplayers on guided tours of California, an area which I am very familiar with, and explaining all the scenery below us as we traverse it...very enjoyable...and doesn't cost a Penny in; "real Avgas"... :D ...!... ...!

Paul....FS 2004+ FS Navigator...G-BPLF.... ...!

....just a tiny selection of who you are likely to meet on Multiplayer, every day, their IP Addresses, and their nearest ICAO Code Airfield addresses, to join in, using "FS Host Spy"...>>>

In FS 2002 and FS 2004 its easy-peasy. You just connect via the Drop-down menu > Multiplayer.

Its also as easy in FSX...(slightly)...

..so..if you are sitting comfortably... I will begin... :) ...

First: Go here...>>> http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/

(1) Download and install these two programs:

FS Host Spy.
FS Host Client.

(2) Pop both "Short-cuts" onto your desktop for easy, instant access!
(3) Fire up your FSX.
(4) Run it in "Windowed Mode".
(5) Close the window down temporally to the Task Bar, (or pull it to one side), to expose the "FS Host Client" Short-cut.
(6) Run it!
(7) Type in your Name, the IP Address you wish to join, Search, and when it finds it...Join!
(8) Open your FSX window again, and you will see the Chat Window, (which is opened with the Enter/Return key).
(9) You are now in "Multiplayer Mode" ready to join your Mates and Chat with them! "FS Host Client" will now appear in your FSX Add-ons, drop-down Menu, for you to control.

(10) Run "FS Host Spy" (as shown above) to see all the Multiplayer Sessions, their IP addresses, who is on line, and where they are!

Go on...give it a try..you know you want to!... ...!

Paul....Here Endeth the First Lesson... ...!

Catch you on-line!.... ;) ...!

Note: The really important extra bit, for FSX only, is the additional "FS Host Client" program to run!

Thanks, Paul 8)

I got it workin', but there wasn't anyone flying at the time

So, I am assuming that you recommend default aircraft because if other users don't have the aircraft you're using it won't display properly or at all. This must apply to scenery add-ons also?

I'll check in later on........

Well Done, Chuck!
Now you've got it sorted!... ....!

Apart from joining someone who happens to be on another Server...(check FS Host Spy)...arrange for one of the Sim V members to join you on a particular Server IP...both of you chose the same IP Address and airfield location....
Chose a quiet IP Address if possible, then you wont gate-crash an ongoing session!

Remember that Simviation has its own Multiplayer Server!: 178.63.253.134 ....It requires a "Password"...obtainable here on request!

The reason for using "default" planes by choice, is that all the pilots can observe each others correct planes and models in the Session....
...it doesn't work correctly with "add-on planes", unless everyone has exactly the same aircraft in their hangars!...The same with scenery!
