FS2004 versus FSX multiplayer connections / FS Host

When it comes to On-line Multiplayer, I have always enjoyed joining in, in either Solo or Multiplayer Flights, for many years, all round the World, with all my friends, in FS 2002 and FS 2004 with all the ease, and instant free connectivity of FS Host...(or even personal IP address to IP address!).... :)...!

[glow=yellow,2,300]With FSX, Multiplayer became a bit of a difficulty, (apparently), due to the MS insistence in using their own, complicated system for connecting to the Internet, which may be the reason why we see so little FSX Multiplayer activity, (including me), compared to FS 2002 and FS 2004?[/glow]

The simple, drop-down, Menu system used to connect to On-Line Multiplayer in FS 2004 is so simple and straightforward, I see no reason to change it for future versions of the Flight Sim, (which included FSX!)...!

Paul....FS 2004...FS Navigator...and Multiplayer!.... 8-)...!

This is where FSX FSHOST CLIENT would come in.

The beauty of the present FS Host Servers for FS 2002/FS 2004 is that we can pick, (in advance if required), a Server of our common choice from the long list of Servers, with little possibility of other annoying Simmers gate-crashing it, and spoiling the Session.

(Note that the Sim V Multiplayer Server is Password Protected for that very reason...and why we regularly use it!).

Just a few friends on-line, in clear skies, is quite enough!

Paul.... 8-)...!

Actually, ACES studio decided to scrap their own incomplete in-house multiplayer system and instead license the GameSpy system. Even they later admitted that it was a "Huge Mistake..." (from the "For What It's Worth Department")  ::)

I fire up my Flight Sim (FS 2004), and connect to the Multiplayer server via the drop down menu in the sim.

Instant connection for flying on-line, solo, or with other flight simmers..!

I'm doing it now!...>>> http://178.63.253.134:81/

Paul... 8-),,,!

FSX has a more complicated way of doing the same thing.. >:(...!

P.S I notice the the FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions) in the Multiplayer Forum no longer works...
...so we need someone familiar with FSX Multiplayer Connection to assist here in the connection details!...
(I am using FS 2004).

.... :).....!

Never mind..it is so simple with FS 2004!...

FSX is slightly more complicated (apparently?)...

I can lead your through the FS 2004 Menu....
...but maybe some one with FSX can help?

Paul.

You can see why I/We still use FS 2004 when it comes to Multiplayer!... ;D...!

and sometimes if you just dont want to waste time finding out what the W key is for...
