FSX LAN Multiplayer mode

I've been trying to fly a multiplayer flight with my two computers.  The problem is that although the second computer can see the session, when I click the "Join" button, I get "Connecting...." and then a pop-up saying something about "slots reserved for friends"

Okay, how do I "friend" my other computer in FSX?

I've done some searching on the web, and haven't found too much in the way of help.  I does seem this is a common problem with FSX with SP2 and Acceleration (or possibly Vista/Win7).

:-?

I will be building a new pc for FSX this fall and picking up another copy of FSX Gold. I'll keep my old machine but pick up a hub to conect the two pc on a home network, so I was about to post nearly the same question when I saw yours. All my searches to date have led to only small amounts of info, so I'll just check this thread now and again and see what comes up. My hub will be a wired connection.

Hopefully, someone will come up with something or I'll find something, or you will find something. :P

So far the only interesting info I've found was someone posted on another forum the same question, then followed up with a post saying, "Problems solved!", with no explaination on how to connect.  Unfortunately, the post was dated late 2009, IIRC.  ::)

log in to gamespy on both computers.

Lower left corner of the screen "contacts"

find the user name of the "Other computer" ... on both computers

right click the name, "add to friends list"

You need to log into Gamespy in order to do LAN?
Besides, I already know the user name of the other computer.

you might be able to connect if you know the "internal address" of the computer that you wish to connect to.  192.168.2.???? (then again you probably already put that in didnt you??)

I'll have to give that a shot when the No2 computer gets back from where-ever it wandered off to. It was apparently "borrowed out" so someone by someone who shouldn't have borrowed it out. It should be back by friday, though.
