Aaaaaaaarrrrrgh!

.....I guess screaming at my computer doesn't help. ::)

Back in December when I purchased a new computer I went through all of the "port" stuff (opening the carpal tunnel-inducing 101 ports in windows firewall, setting up ports to be forwarded on my router, setting up a static ip address...the whole kit and caboodle.) and I'm pretty sure I tested the needed ports and they were all open.
After doing my bi-annual port check today....both PFPortchecker and FSPorttest are negative (Error: timed out waiting for response) even after I turn Windows firewall off!

Any help would be [glow=yellow,2,300]greatly[/glow] appreciated.

Both are experincing issues after the chocolate software people had to switch the server they run off.

If you were good before, there is no reason you shouldn't be good now.

Paul & I both experienced the same issue, but we've had no problems flying with the regulars so far. All of which also have their ports opened.  :)

Try a different third party tester for the ports if you want to be absolutely sure.  ;)

Port Checker won't work for me either.

Okay, thanks! That old "guilty" feeling was beginning to creep up on me. ;D

Christian, if you did the static IP portion of the port tutorial, try setting that part back to it's default setting.

Crash had the same issue as you, where any tester wouldn't work, and by doing this, it solved his port problem.  ;)

I also had to undo my static IP when I moved and switched ISPs as the new router wouldn't work with one.

I checked the server chat log, and as soon as you logged off, he was able to log on. That was the server owner.  ;)

This helped a lot. Free software to make a static ip address:

Thanks Carlo.

[edit]Hmmm....for some reason it never changes from "This IP address is currently dynamic" to "This IP address is currently static". :-/[/edit]

Did you try a different random IP address?

Carlo ;)

Yeah I did, for some reason my ip address never changes.
