well, being that i have to get up 1 1/2 hrs earlier than I normally would in the morning, Im gonna try to get in 1-3 legs tonight.  Starting @ NZWN (Wellington) that is if anyone would care to join.

unless the misses needs the computer, I will probably be on every night for the rest of this week, and all next week to try and get all of the south island done.  Flights will most likely be held near 7p Eastern / 0000zulu.

Try this for Kaikoura....

You might need to do the double AFCAD location trick, not sure.
(One afcad in the addon's scenery folder, and a copy of the afcad in scenery/world/scenery folder)

That will solve the default floating runway thing. Didn't realize it was doing that, sorry!

@Fozzer,

Did you come across any more strangely oriented default strips, Paul? I use addon stuff for most of it so I have no idea what the default fields are like.

Congrats on covering FS2004's New Zealand, Paul!

I kind of suspected that there may be some weirdness for some with the Mount Cook & Queenstown area fjords, but it doesn't look like it's insurmountable.

At the time of the runway "excursion" i was in the hard as hell to land FS9 Default Mooney.   I see that I will give up the 15 min hops in the Mooney, and go back to the trusty-rusty 172.   I have come quite adept at barely squeaking the tires on landings with the 172... unlike the bronco busting Mooney.

We'll see how things turn out over the next week.

I must admit, I do select my Aircraft depending upon the distance I have to travel, in the On-line Tours...;)...!

North American F86, (the speediest plane in my Hangar), for a hop over 200 nm.
Default Beech Baron 58 for <100 nm Hops.
Default Cessna 172/150 for <50 nm Hops.

(Cosmos Flex-wing, for hopping over hedges!).

This reduces my various hops to a flying time of around half an hour, which is plenty long enough for me... ;)...!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004...FS Nav...and a short attention span... ;D...!

I like Hops!... ;)...>>>

Cheers!

There is a saying that if you like the English countryside, you will be happy in New Zealand... :-*...!

...but having Sim flown both North Island, and South Island, over the past week or so, I cant see any similarity between the two countries at all!
...indeed, South Island reminded me more of the Swiss Alps!

Maybe its just the "Weather"?.... ;)...and the "Sheep"?.... :-*....!

Paul...Baaaaa.....its raining!... :(...!

..... ;D....!

For anybody still chipping away at the final legs of the tour, Markus Hellwig released a new repaint on multiple websites after I made a request at another forum.

It is for Milton Shupe's freeware DHC-7, in the livery of short lived airline "Newmans Air", which operated between the north and south islands of New Zealand in the 1980's.

I requested an upload to SimV's libraries, but I don't
