I went on the Worldview page right after I asked that question......... because even after thay have signed off for a bit the old people's IDs "hang on" there for a bit... and the one person that was there then was "JetBlack1".

So that might be the person, based on your comments.

best,

JetBlack1 (Greg), Chad, SubZero, Me, and a few more of us have been flying around California on a Tour for a couple of hours successfully earlier this evening (Monday) with no problems using FS 2004, and at least one other Chap using FSX...

Fozzer,

The mistaken understanding is that the problems happen ALL THE TIME. And with all players.

BTW....... in the middle of my nice flight tonight, I got kicked off the server when someone tried to join.  I saw the green message bar for a second.... and then POOF!  Loading AI traffic......... FSHost has left the session.

Then it caused the entire simpit network to go down shortly thereafter .....losing all my flight instruments and controls....... because the main DSL modem IP then screwed up.  I had to reset the IP for the modem to straighten everything out and to get back online at all for the net even to get on SimV.

best,

Maybe we should put something in the session comments reminding people to open their ports.

..as John mentioned earlier...
..the problem with Members being "unable to connect", or getting "kicked off", during a Multiplayer Session, seems to be completely random, and unpredictable... :'(...!

Sometimes we are all lucky... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]....other times we are not!... :'(...!

Its a problem we have always had, since the early days, and I don't see any real cure for it at the moment... ::)...!

We generally have to suffer it!

Paul...FS 2004/FSX....FS Navigator... 8-)...!

Unfortunately .... I don't think that there is anything that can be done to assure this is not an issue.

You can keep saying warnings til you are blue in the face..... and the only people that will reach are the people who care about others.  They will make the extra effort to make sure that their setup is correct.  The self-centered crowd will always feel that they are entitled to ignoring the stuff that applies to others...caue it really isn't important....... and they can fly just fine.

There have been requests at the ChocolateSoftware forum asking him to add a port checking routine to FSHost.... so that if your ports are not open YOU can't connect at all.  So far he has not "taken the bait" on that one.  I hope he does.

best,
